Protein Shake Recipes – ONE

This is the first blog post of a series of protein shake recipes that involve fruit, also called smoothies. In an effort to get kids to eat more fruit, I put together a large list of possible combinations to help create variety in your choices. This will be an ongoing feature of my blog with new recipes added every week.

This week’s recipes include some of the recipes from the A’s…

protein shakeABB – Almond, Banana, Blueberry

2 scoops vanilla protein powder
8 oz almond milk
1/2 cup blueberries
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 banana
4-5 ice cubes

Almond 3-Alive Protein Shake

2 scoops vanilla protein powder
4 oz almond milk
4 oz orange juice
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp lime juice
1 Tbsp honey
4-5  ice cubes

All Berry Delight

8 oz. skim milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/4 cup frozen raspberries
1/4 cup frozen blackberries
1/4 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup frozen dark cherries
5 ice cubes

Almond Blackana

1 cup vanilla almond milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 banana
1/2 cup frozen blackberries

Almond Joy

8 oz. Silk Pure Almond milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/2 tsp coconut extract
1 Tbsp. cocoa powder
6 ice cubes

Amaretto

8 oz. Silk Pure Almond milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1 cup frozen dark sweet cherries
6 ice cubes

protein shakeAmbrosia

8 oz. skim milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/2 tsp. coconut extract
1/4 cup pear slices
1/4 cup apple slices
1/4 cup frozen strawberries
1/4 cup frozen pineapple chunks
3 ice cubes

 

Angel Food Cake

8 oz. skim milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/2 tsp. coconut extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 ice cubes 

Apple Cider Smoothie

6 oz. unsweetened apple juice (or cider)
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/2 tsp orange extract
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
6 ice cubes

Apple Mango Freeze

8 oz. skim milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
3 Tbsp. unsweetened apple sauce
1 cup frozen mango chunks
6 ice cubes

protein shakeApple Pie (My Favorite!)

8 oz. skim milk
2 scoops vanilla protein powder
3 Tbsp. unsweetened apple sauce
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
6 ice cubes

Avocado-Banana

1 1/2 cups orange juice
1/2 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
1 avocado
1 banana
1/4 cup honey
2 to 3 cups ice

Avocado Berrinana

2 scoops vanilla protein powder
1/2 cup frozen strawberries/raspberries
8 oz almond milk
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 avocado
4-5 ice cubes
